ab 26.03.: MIGRATION STATE OF MIND
ab dem 26.03. jeden 2. und 4. Mittwoch // up from 26th of march: every 2nd and 4th wednesday: Filmvorführungen // movie projections!
We think that cinema is an effective instrument as it can recap in a short time a series of complex sensations, feelings, doubts, worries and existential conditions experienced by who choose to leave his/her own country for the difficult path of the search for dignity and happiness.
This is a very common situation in South European Countries, not easy and often only motivated by the false dream of the “hope in the future” which often reveal itself as a threat and becomes a trap, especially when the reality is not like it was imagined, and one has to deal with the same problems, if not bigger, and start everything from the beginning. In this eternal cruise searching for a imaginary place, the impulses that can prevail are the ones of self-assertion, egoism, alienation and they can lead to isolation of the person. In addition, the lack or the incorrect information, the lack of any kind of assistance can be reason of exploitation and coercion, not only in the workplaces.
In this Europe made of crisis, austerity and precariousness, an entire generation runs away from an uncertain and poor present and usually discover, too late, to live in a space everywhere marked by precariousness, police and control.
We believe that watching a movie talking about our stories as well as have dinner together and talk about our worries and expectations can be useful to build a form a collective organization that break the isolation of the “individualist hope” and take position against exploitation. We believe that acquiring a self consciousness in the current situation that Europe is experiencing, expecially in Berlin, could be a very strong weapon to share knowledge and to take back what they took away from us.
For these reasons, we would like to introduce this topic through the series of movies we chose (all of them, we will try to make in the original language with German subtitles, other italian ) and discussions, always accompanied by “Vöku”, as a moment of sharing, interchange, debate and socialization.
